ABOUT EMMA

Emma is the owner, president, and lead consultant for Emma Legal Nurse Consulting, LLC. She is a registered nurse and certified legal nurse consultant with over 25 years in the healthcare industry.

Emma began practicing as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting specifically in Medical-Surgical, Orthopedics, and Oncology. Emma currently provides clinical consultation for long term care facilities which includes maintaining policies and procedures, ensuring clinical systems and processes are within the standards of care, providing education and training to facility staff, preparing skilled nursing facilities for annual State and Federal inspections, writing Plans of Corrections, and preparing facilities for accreditations with JCAHO.

Emma has a vast knowledge of the healthcare system, especially the long-term care industry. She has spent the last 15 years critiquing and reviewing medical records to include but not limited to falls with injuries, pressure ulcer development/deterioration, weight loss, decline in condition, sepsis, medication errors, delay in medical and nursing treatments, and nursing home abuse allegations. She has educated and trained countless nurses in the practice of Geriatric nursing. Emma has played a pivotal role in the implementation of COVID-19 pandemic plans and has been certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Nursing Home Infection Preventionist.

Emma is a member of the American Nurses Association, the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care, and the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants.
